When I was pregnant, I was amazed at the difficulty I had trying to find balanced information about caesareans. I wanted to make an informed decisions for my birth plan in 2004. The information in my antenatal classes was sparce to say the least and I had to dig around the internet for research papers to start getting a more realistic picture.
Following the caesarean birth of my daughter I created this site in 2005. Since then I have gone on to work with NICE on the Caesarean Section Guideline and written Caesarean Birth: A positive approach to preparation and recovery.
The site was significantly updated in June 2011 to reflect new research and enable posting.
The book, and therefore the static content of the site, have been thoroughly reviewed by a number of Professionals and I am confident the information is up-to-date and accurate.
