My work over the last six years with practitioners and women preparing for birth and those who have already started their families has made it abundantly clear that this mode of birth is both feared and stigmatised by many. It is little wonder that thousands of us every year experience it as \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcdisappointing\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 or worse \u00e2\u20ac\u02dchighly traumatic&#8217;.
